Andreas Hoeck, born 1964 in Cologne/Germany, studied Philosophy, Theology, and Exegesis in Bonn/Germany (Friedrich-Wilhelm Universität), Anápolis/Brazil (S.T.B. at the Institutum Sapientiæ), Rome (B.Phil. at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas – Angelicum), and Jerusalem (École Biblique et Archéologique). After his priest ordination in 1992 he earned his doctorate at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome in 2002 (Sacrae Scripturae Doctor). Member of the clergy of the Archdiocese of Denver, he is a Professor and Chair of Sacred Scripture at Saint John Vianney Theological Seminary of the Archdiocese of Denver. He has served as the Academic Dean in 2010-2015. Fr. Hoeck teaches Sacred Scripture both at the Seminary, and for the St. Francis School of Theology for Deacons. His field of expertise and specialized research is the writings of Saints John and Paul. He has published about sixty contributions in the form of books and articles, both in exegetical periodicals, as well as in popular journals.
