Admission to St. John Vianney Theological Seminary is limited to qualified men who have been admitted into a program of priestly formation. Each candidate for admission must be sponsored by his Ordinary or Religious Superior and then approved by the Rector of the Seminary. Admission thus has two stages: first, to be admitted as a seminarian for a certain diocese or religious community, and second, to be admitted to St. John Vianney for studies and formation.
St. John Vianney Theological Seminary is authorized by the United States Department of Homeland Security to enroll international seminarians in its program of priestly formation.
An international student whose native language is not English must submit results of a recent TOEFL examination. Permission to participate in pre-theology or theology courses is based on the results of the language proficiency assessment (TOEFL) and the recommendation of the Cycle Director and the Academic Dean.

Tuition and Seminary Fees
2016-2017 tuition, room, and board for seminarians from outside the Archdiocese of Denver are $32,170.00 per annum. Seminarians admitted under special circumstances for a particular course are charged $690.00 per credit hour (All fees are subject to change without prior notice).
Housing and meals are provided for seminarians of the Archdiocese of Denver and those assigned to the Seminary by their local Ordinary.
Health care insurance is provided for seminarians of the Archdiocese of Denver. Seminarians from other dioceses must make arrangements for health insurance coverage through their local Ordinary. All seminarians must purchase their own books and personal items. Seminarians are expected to assume responsibility for auto, fire, theft, and personal possession insurance.
Withdrawal from the Seminary
A seminarian in good standing may withdraw from the Seminary during a semester by submitting a completed “Request for Withdrawal” to the Academic Dean. Each seminarian is responsible for settling all outstanding bills and returning all books to the library prior to leaving the seminary.
Seminarians who withdraw from the seminary before the end of an academic semester will be charged for tuition, room, and board on a pro rata basis, according to the date of withdrawal.

All seminarians must purchase their own books and personal items.
Student Loan Deferments and Federal Financial Aid
Because Saint John Vianney Theological Seminary is accreditated by an accrediting organization recognized by the United States Department of Education, students are entitled to received deferments on government guaranteed student loans taken at other institutions. Saint John Vianney does not currently participate, however, in any other aspects of the federal financial aid system.
