Prayer Day for Biblical School students

Prayer Day is the orientation day and kickoff for a new academic year in the Biblical School. (The Catechetical School does not have a Prayer Day at this time.) It typically falls on the Saturday immediately after Labor Day.  Attendance at Prayer Day is required for all Biblical School students (years 1-4) as it sets the intellectual and spiritual foundation for the upcoming year’s program of study with several lectures given by instructional staff specific to each year of study.

  • Books will be sold at the Year 1 Prayer Day only. For years 2 – 4, books will be sold during the first few weeks of class in September and October.
  • While locations may seem somewhat random, the process to schedule four separate Prayer Day locations on the same morning poses particular hurdles. We weigh many variables when considering locations to host our four Prayer Days, including: (1) parish location and accessibility, (2) parish calendar availability, (3) parish capacity (including parking), and (4) number of students per class. As our enrollment continues to grow, finding parish locations able to host our Prayer Days continues to become more and more challenging.
  • Start times are listed in RED, as they vary based on parish scheduling. All Prayer Days will conclude by about 12 noon at the latest.
